You’ll need at least 3 Days at the Gorge to fully appreciate the beauty and diversity of this National park, set deep in the Central Highlands. With your experienced local guide; Escape, Explore and Discover this unquie environment. Walk, drive, hike and camp/stay in the park and be captivated by the diverse landscapes and rich wildlife of the Sandstone Wilderness.
Spend days immersing yourself in Carnarvon Gorge National park with guided day tour walks. The walks range in length from 2 km to 25km this allows walkers of all ages to travel and enjoy this park. Marvel at the vastness of the Amphitheatre, the cool quiet of Mickey Creek Gorge, and the prehistoric life in Ward’s Canyon. Let the world-renowned Art Gallery whisper stories of ancient cultural connections. Climb the gorge walls and watch the pastel-pink dawn tones dance across the creamy sandstone cliffs on the Boolimba Bluff walk.
If adventure is more your style, pack your gear and head out on the 87km Carnarvon Great Walk—an experience not to be missed if you love a challenge. Towering multi-hued cliffs, basalt-crested tablelands, sandstone escarpments and plateaus, cool streams and a colourful mosaic of plant life are waiting to be explored.
From Brisbane we travel west and head right into the heart of the outback. In some parts you’ll climb to over 1200m and see amazing sandstone formations, historical sites and unique Aboriginal art sites. Spend peaceful nights under the star-studded sky at Takkarrka camping area. You’ll be awe-inspired—and never want to leave!
Bushwackers experienced guide will arrange a number of walks and hikes to suit daily conditions and groups fitness levels.
All meals are supplied once arriving at the gorge. Including daily morning and afternoon tea, picnic lunches and freshly prepared dinners and breakfast.

- Boolimba Bluff 6.4 km (approx 3 hrs) return
- Moss Garden and Amphitheatre 10 km (approx 3 hrs) return
- Moss Garden, Amphitheatre and Ward’s Canyon 11.7 km (approx 4 hrs) return
- Moss Garden, Amphitheatre, Ward’s Canyon and Art Gallery 14 km (approx 5 hrs) return
- Moss Garden, Boowinda Gorge and Big Bend 21 km (approx 7 hrs) return
